Lincoln Repair - Technician

Who is Lincoln Repair?

Lincoln Repair is the best auto repair shop in Bismarck and Mandan, North Dakota. We have been voted the best for several years running. Our goal is to provide high quality repair and customer service in order to keep our Technicians busy!

How much will money I make?

Depending on experience, education, and ASE Certification a Technician can make between $75,000 and $100,000 per year. We offer top of the line medical, dental, and vision insurance. What are the Hours?

We work Monday – Friday from 7:45AM – 5:30PM with up to a 1-hour lunch. We believe our employee’s weekends should be open to spend time with family and friends, that is why we are not open on the weekend.

What are the work Expectations?

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Identifies mechanical problems, either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
  • Performs tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper mechanical function; ensures that all critical parts are examined.
  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes and tune-ups.
  • Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems, such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
  • Performs further tests, which may include test driving the vehicle, to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills/Abilities

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured by our auto insurance.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair.
  • Excellent mechanical repair skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals.
  • Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to read work orders.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • ASE Certification A1 through A8 preferred.
  • Three to five years of related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
  • Good vision to inspect repair work.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
